Anjelica Ruth Lewis, Esq.
ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
Anjelica Ruth Lewis is an Associate Attorney at Mandl Immigration Lawyers, where she focuses on Removal Defense along with a range of other immigration matters. With a career rooted in advocacy and cultural fluency, Anjelica is dedicated to protecting immigrant families’ rights and navigating the complexities of the U.S. legal system.
Attorney Lewis’s journey toward immigration law began in childhood. Raised in a military family, she began learning Spanish as a first grader while her father, Clarence E. Lewis, was stationed at Ft. Totten, New York. This early exposure grew into a lifelong passion; she pursued advanced Spanish studies throughout her youth and eventually won a prestigious Fellowship to study abroad in the Dominican Republic while attending Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). It was during this immersive experience that she achieved full fluency in the language.
Following law school, Attorney Lewis turned her academic success into community action. She founded the Latino Services program at the Hotline Crisis Intervention Center on the Outer Banks of North Carolina under the direction of Lynn S. Bryant. This initiative was instrumental in helping immigrant families navigate essential services, including the local court system, housing, employment, and social services.
Beyond her focus on removal defense, Attorney Lewis has a proven track record representing clients before both United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). When she isn’t in the courtroom, she spends her time rescuing animals and volunteering to help those in need.
Attorney Lewis brings a rare blend of vulnerability-informed advocacy and technical precision to the Mandl team. Her background in crisis intervention allows her to approach high-stakes removal cases with a level of empathy and composure that calms her clients during their most difficult moments.
